Nathanaël Roman, aka Pipe & Pallet, experiments with different drawing techniques, animation, sound, and eclectic moving objects. The works for the exhibition Kissing Branches at the Part Time gallery are inspired by the natural phenomenon of adjacent tree branches merging. «Trees that are in close proximity to each other can grow to the point where their branches physically touch, and eventually their outer bark layer wears away enough for the two soft centres of the branches to join and grow into one. This romantic gesture of nature will serve as a way to reflect on how human relationships are formed, how bonds are strengthened, and how two can grow together given the right natural conditions, as well as how fragile it all is,» says the description of the exhibition.

The exhibition Kissing Branches is on view at the Part Time gallery from April 24 to May 17. The gallery is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 15.00 to 18.00 and on Saturdays from 12.00 to 16.00.

Part Time is a new, non-commercial gallery in Grīziņkalns, Tallinas iela 94, run by Liene Pavlovska and Oskars Pavlovskis, artists and founders of the association Neatlaidība. Its name — Part Time — is both a metaphor and a play on words, and a direct reference to the economic uncertainty faced by artists of different generations. You can follow Part Time on the gallery’s Instagram account.
