A collaboration between Mindaro Arch (Antra Saknīte) and H2E (Ingūna Elere, Mārtiņš Vītols) has transformed a former warehouse into a modern workspace while also creating a new visual code and indoor navigation design for Lightguide. The production area covers more than 5,300 m², of which around 2,000 m² are cleanrooms.

«A well-designed workplace is a productivity booster and one of the key tools for attracting talent and building a strong business. Space design is the physical manifestation of a company’s culture and brand. We are delighted and thrilled with the international jury’s assessment and very grateful to our client Lighthguide, who inspires us by their example to keep going,» comments Ingūna Elere, co-founder and lead designer at H2E.

Lightguide’s interior design concept is based on the interaction of function, colour, and light. Light in the design symbolises the life and hope that the work of the factory brings to healthcare. Colour marks the function of the spaces and helps to navigate through them, bringing cheer, vitality, and energy to the daily work, which requires the team to be extremely focused. Production processes must take place in a cleanroom, a space as clean as possible, free from the external environment, dust, and germs, as well as temperature and humidity fluctuations. Usually these spaces follow the «white standard» — white rooms with smooth, easy-to-clean surfaces. Lightguide stands out for what the designers call «vitaminising» the space with effective geometry and bright colours.

In October, H2E and Mindaro Arch also received a special mention in the interior design category of the international competition Architecture MasterPrize for their design of Lightguide. For more information about the project and a video, visit the H2E website.
