On September 23, the Palladium Concert Hall will host a forum for the creative industries related to stage design, Culture. Industry. Technology, organised by Company NA, one of the most experienced Latvian businesses in the field. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Company NA, the forum will welcome a special guest — the world-renowned stage and lighting designer Cory FitzGerald. In the Nice Touch section, Normunds Bļasāns, one of the founders of Company NA, talks about a talisman that helps events run smoothly.
«Every event involves complex and intricate technical and organisational processes, so the element of luck is crucial. Athletes have different talismans to help them, and we also have a kind of talisman — an event wristband that we get from the organiser and usually don’t take off until the end of the event. That way, our thoughts are always on the event. The wristband is part of the event experience and contributes to the sense of belonging. Keeping and collecting wristbands is an alternative to photographs. It is a physical artefact that evokes the experience lived.»
Company NA was founded in 1994 by Normunds Bļasāns and Aldis Janevics. The company provides technical solutions for events and over the last decade has been producing innovative stage lighting used by superstars such as Elton John, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Adele, Bruno Mars, Rammstein, Foo Figthers, Metallica, and others. From the Latvian Song and Dance Festivals to Brainstorm concerts, it’s hard to name a major event or concert in Latvia that doesn’t use the services of Company NA.
For the sixth year, with the aim of discussing topical issues in the industry, Company NA organises the forum Culture. Industry. Technology. Special guest Cory FitzGerald will present the behind-the-scenes, creative approach, and experience of his work in lighting and stage design for the world’s leading musicians. In the second part of the forum, local professionals will discuss the latest industry trends and challenges. Culture. Industry. Technology 2024 will take place on September 23 at the Palladium Concert Hall. Participation is free of charge upon prior registration.
