Tomorrow, March 21, at 15.00, the first event this year organised by the international design community SEGD Riga Chapter, discussion Design & Healthcare, will take place. Three internationally acclaimed design and technology experts will discuss how design can improve the patient experience in healthcare facilities.
«Today, physical and mental health challenges, including those related to safety and trust, are largely addressed by various design strategies, methods, and technological advancements. We now have the opportunity to receive healthcare services without leaving home and to live for more than a hundred years. The role of design in healthcare is crucial for improving the patient experience, enhancing treatment outcomes, and optimising healthcare processes,» the moderator of the Design & Healthcare event, PhD Aija Freimane, a design researcher and lecturer at the Dublin Institute of Technology’s School of Art and Design, and co-chair of the SEGD Riga Chapter, introduces the subject.
Experts from the design and technology industries from the USA, Australia, and Latvia will discuss and share examples of how design can improve the patient experience in healthcare facilities, and make healthcare more effective, and safer.

The Design & Healthcare event will take place on March 21 at 15.00 online via the Zoom platform. Participation is free, but registration is required.
The event is organised by the SEGD Riga Chapter in collaboration with the design studio H2E and with the support of the State Cultural Capital Foundation of Latvia.
