Anna Andersone is one of the leaders of the startup ecosystem in Latvia and the head of the Riga TechGirls movement. This year, Anna has also taken on the role of the selection jury chair for the National Design Award of Latvia 2025, leading the judging of entries in the service design and digital solutions categories. In the Nice Touch section, Anna talks about her daily companion that helps her move both her body and her mind.
«I have a green beach bike that has lived with me for more than twenty years. It’s like an old friend that never lets me down — it was there when I embarked on night rides in high school, then safely took the kids to kindergarten, and now it reliably takes me on my daily commute and to work. The green bike has become a trainer for my body and spirit — it not only moves my legs but also my mind. It allows me to air out everyday worries and enjoy an oasis of peace, as well as serves as an idea factory.»
Anna Andersone has been working in the design, communication, and technology sector and entrepreneurship for more than twenty years, co-founding start-ups Froont and Berta.me, as well as serving on the board of TechHub Riga, a community of new technology companies. Under her leadership, Riga TechGirls has trained more than 20 000 people in Latvia and abroad over three years. Anna is a guest lecturer at the Riga School of Economics (SSE Riga) and co-founder and director of StartSchool, a new technology and business training programme in Riga.
