Rasma Pušpure, jewellery designer and head of the Metal Design department at the Art Academy of Latvia, creates jewellery with empathy for the world around her. By choosing clean and simple forms, the designer creates a framework for the story of the person wearing the jewelry. Her brand, Dos Adornments, offers jewellery that is both contemporary and timeless. In the Nice Touch section, Rasma gives advice on how to get new jewellery while being environmentally conscious.

«We know a lot about the devastation that textiles and fast fashion are causing to the planet. Jewellery is also part of this story. So I think it’s nice that you can recycle precious metal pieces into new jewellery. One earring lost and another sitting quietly on a shelf, a jumble of broken gold and silver necklaces, a ring that no longer fits or looks good —sometimes people don’t know where to turn with broken, aged, or morally outdated jewellery, realising that it probably won’t be properly valued at a pawnshop. Most jewellery artists, designers, jewellers, or jewellery brands can turn the old into something new. All you have to do is find the one you like! For inspiration, take a look at the Latvian Jewellery Art Association’s website, where you can find the work of some of Latvia’s finest jewellery creators.»
